Wildling Tejo chocolate Cubs

DESCRIPTION

Overview

The Wildling Tejo chocolate in toddler sizing is the all-rounder for the cool season: densely woven recycled cotton, an integrated membrane and a water tongue keeping moisture out. Like every Wildling it keeps the three principles of barefoot footwear: a wide toe box that lets toes splay, a zero-drop sole, and a construction flexible enough to move with the foot rather than against it.

How Does It Compare?

Neither Vivobarefoot nor Xero Shoes covers toddler sizing as thoroughly as Wildling's Cubs line, and few toddler shoes anywhere combine a membrane with a sole this thin. For a first walking shoe, flexibility matters more than anything else. Browse the full Wildling barefoot shoe range or the wider barefoot shoes for kids selection to compare side by side.

Sizing and Fit

Cubs sizing for early walkers, with a softer heel and the same wide toe box. Fits true to size. Available EU 18–22. EU price: €69.

Pros and Cons

What we like: membrane and water tongue handle sustained wet; softer heel suited to early walkers; recycled cotton upper. Worth considering: the membrane costs some breathability; takes time to dry if fully soaked; toddlers outgrow it quickly.

FAQ

Q: Is the Tejo chocolate suitable for a child just starting to walk?
A: Yes — that is what the Cubs sizing is designed for. A thin, flexible sole lets a new walker feel the ground, which is how balance develops. Check the fit every few weeks, as toddler feet grow quickly.

Q: What is a water tongue?
A: A gusseted tongue sealed along its sides, so water cannot get in through the lacing. It is what makes a textile shoe usable in real rain.
