Vivobarefoot makes more boots than any other barefoot brand, and the range splits into four jobs that barely overlap. Knowing which line you are looking at matters more than the colourway.
Tracker is the serious hiking line — leather or textile, ankle-height, built for rough ground and wet weather. The Forest ESC sits at the top with a Michelin outsole and a 9.5 mm zero-drop stack. Magna is the faster, lighter sibling: the Magna Forest ESC is roughly 100 g lighter than the equivalent Tracker with a breathable wool-blend collar, which makes it the better warm-weather hiker and the worse cold-weather one.
Gobi is the city line — desert boots, Chelseas and warm-lined versions that read as ordinary footwear. Tundra and Jungle ESC are the biome-specific extremes, built for cold and wet respectively.
All of it shares the same foundation: a thin flexible sole, zero drop from heel to toe, and a foot-shaped toe box wide enough for toes to splay. That is the point of the brand, and it holds from the toddler Gobi Boot up to the Tracker Forest ESC.
Vivobarefoot runs closer to true size than most barefoot brands, but the boots are the exception — the Tracker and Magna lines fit snugger through the midfoot than the Primus and Gobi shoes do. If you are between sizes or plan on thick winter socks, size up. The removable insole gives you a little more depth if you need it.
